JAMES STEPANIAN, President & CEO, (since 2008):

In 2008, Mr. Stepanian founded Summerlin Asset Management and developed a business plan that focused on the acquisition of high quality bank owned 1st position insured debt instruments. James established contractual agreements with several banks including Nevada State Bank, Zions Bancorp, US Bank, Prosperity Bank Houston, Doral Bank, Tennessee National Bank, Horizon Community Bank Arizona, and Kondaur Capital Corp. Mr. Stepanian served as Company president since June 2008 and as a director since December 2008. He has expertise in corporate management, development and implementation of business plans and leads Summerlin in investor procurement and investor relations. In 2010, Mr. Stepanian managed the rapid growth of Summerlin Asset Management that now has corporate offices in California, Arizona, and contracted marketing agents in 23 states. Today, in 2017 Mr. Stepanian focuses on transitioning Summerlin into a broad based real estate investment & development company.

Mr. Stepanian has over 17 years of experience in corporate management including sales and marketing, new product development, distribution, regulatory compliance, and mergers & acquisitions. Prior to starting SAM, Mr. Stepanian served as the CEO of Wholesale Telecom Inc., (1998-2007) a California public utility who resells voice and data telephony services to midcap corporations.

PETE PAKES,CFO, (since 2008):

Mr. Pakes has been in the real estate debt industry since 2005 when he was the CFO of Select Financial, based out of Arizona. In 2008, Pete partnered with Jim Stepanian and Adam Pakes to form Summerlin Asset Management, LLC. Mr. Pakes manages the day to day internal operations of Summerlin Asset Management. Pete continues to build and maintain the model of special servicing and equitable dispositions for Summerlin Asset Management, borrowers, and its investors.

Mr. Pakes has also managed and successfully developed land in Western Arizona to completion. In 1994, Mr. Pakes was hired by SBC Global Services and served for 15 years as Senior Executive AM covering the financial sector in the Midwestern United States.

ADAM PAKES,COO (since 2008):

Mr. Pakes has over 8 years of experience in the mortgage industry. Since 2004, Mr. Pakes has held a Broker’s license in California, Arizona, Florida, and Washington. Adam’s expertise is overseeing the acquisition and disposition of all non performing and performing Mortgages. Mr. Pakes is responsible for specialty servicing including short payoff, short sale, loan modification, and final disposition of each mortgage asset. Through his experience, Mr. Pakes has grown SAM assets under management to over $50,000,000.

TRAVIS CHATWIN, Senior Investment Analyst, (since 2008):

Travis Chatwin has been a Real Estate Professional since 2003. He began his career at McCall Realty, South Lake Tahoe Real Estate, and was awarded Rookie of the Year in 2003. In 2005 Travis achieved his (CRS) certification. The training available to CRS Designees includes a strong focus on technology and its applications in the real estate business. In 2005, Travis became a Certified New Home Specialist (CNHS). In 2006 Travis earned his e-Pro certification. Travis is also a Senior Real Estate Specialist. SRES designees demonstrate requisite knowledge and expertise to counsel senior clients through the major financial and lifestyle transitions involved in relocating, refinancing or selling a home.

Today Travis is a Senior Investment Analyst, conducting due diligence on behalf of Summerlin Asset Management investors. His expertise in real estate valuation analysis provides SAM investors with professional guidance needed to ensure prudent mortgage investment decisions.
